Series

Bandeirante production spanned 5 decades, during which time the line evolved mechanically and (to a lesser extent) stylistically to meet the demands of the times.

While technically only 3 series were produced—the OJ40, the OJ50, and the BJ50—the “2nd generation OJ50” (1989-94) is often viewed as a de facto series due to the number of key differences between it and the vehicles that preceded & succeeded it.

Here, below, are the 4 series of Toyota Bandeirante.

BJ50 (1994-01): The Modern Bandy

The most modern Land Cruiser ever built

OJ50 (1989-94): The Upgraded Bandy

The shortest-lived—and perhaps most coveted—generation of Bandies

OJ50 (1973-89): The Classic Bandy

The series that ushered in the Golden Era of the Bandeirante

OJ40 (1962-73): The Original Bandy

Half jeep, half tractor, the OJ40 blazed a trail for all Bandies to follow
